Glen Cleanup Saturday 8/28

There WILL be a clean up this Saturday Aug. 28 from 9am to 11am at the Niagara Glen.  Sorry for the short notice.  We will meet at the top of the access stairs.  Cookies and a water station to be provided to fill up water bottles.  Please bring a pair of gloves, and wear proper footwear.  I have added an event page to our facebook group as well.

Sorry again for the short notice, and thanks for letting the OAC know.  We appreciate it!

Search Problems

The "Search Problems" area of the site is up. It  went live this evening so we'd like to try and crash it and find the bugs. If you have any suggestions or issues please post it in the forum.

Ontario Access Coalition

The Ontario Access Coalition is always looking for support from the climbing/bouldering community. The OAC is instrumental in communicating and working with landowners to keep or open our favorite areas for climbing. We encourage you to hit the website and become a member!

New Maps

We're currently working on new maps for the site. The best option we have is using the maps that our friends at topout.org graciously allowed to use, however our sites aren't laid out the same. We've simply just included boulder names and paths until we get GPS coordinates. They look much better than the one's we've had up for yearsthough. The completed maps are Bizarro, Central, Oz and Wonderland. Please check these maps for accuracy and email us if there are any additions or issues.

Halfway Log Dump Bouldering

The OAC is very pleased announce that as of May 22, 2010, bouldering is permitted on designated boulders at Halfway Log Dump (HWLD) in Bruce Peninsula National Park.  The re-opening of HWLD to bouldering is the result of a "Recreational Activity Assessment Process", completed in partnership by Parks Canada and the Ontario Access Coalition. This opening is a great opportunity for the Ontario Bouldering community to enjoy the area while acting as a steward for the Park.  Bouldering at HWLD was closed spring of 2003, to protect the natural resources of the park from inappropriate development of boulder problems.  Boulderers interested in climbing here should visit the OAC website for additional details.
